Explore the Mysteries of the Universe

On March 3, 2018, NIST scientist, Dr. Boualem Hammouda, presented an informative and stimulating program on several scientific topics in the news today: Astronomy and the Universe, Geologic Processes on Earth, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Global Warming and Pollution, Fossil Fuels and Renewable Energy, DNA and the Evolution of the Species.

Since this was a brief introduction of each topic, Dr Hammouda will present an in-depth discussion of Astronomy and the Mysteries of the Universe on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm. We will travel through space to discover fascinating facts about the planets and exoplanets, stars and galaxies, gravity and dark matter and black holes. Also, learn about the unique methods of exploring the planets and galaxies, including the Cassini and Voyager spacecraft missions, the space telescopes Kepler, Hubble and James Webb, and observable gravitational effects to identify black holes and dark matter.

The universe still holds many mysteries, but scientists are making exciting discoveries every day.

Join us on Saturday, April 7 for an exciting trip through our universe.
